What is Bear Down Camp!

Bear Down Camp is a program within the Associated Students of the University of
Arizona (ASUA), which is the Student Government here on campus. It is a two day
camp where incoming freshman get the opportunity to learn about the heritage,
traditions, and history of the U of A. The campers are also taught about things
to do on and off campus, how to get involved, and how have a successful first
year at this University. There are workshops that teach students about all the
different clubs and organizations you can get involved in, where to go and who
to talk to if you have any problems academically, financially, etc. Finally,
the campers will be familiarized with the University and its prestigious
facilities.
Bear Down Camp participants will also have the opportunity to meet over 100
students before classes even begin, plugging them into one of the many small
communities that make up this large campus. Bear Down Camp will be held on
campus this year from August 22nd-23rd. Registration will be available soon so
